Job Title:

A Business Intelligence Professional is sought to fill a challenging role in an organization.

About the Job:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data analysis, specifically within a business intelligence context. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills are essential for effective communication with various business units.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and patterns, providing valuable insights to drive business decisions.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into structured data models, ensuring accurate representation of business needs.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and process maps, to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust data solutions, leveraging knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, particularly its semantic layer and DAX, is necessary for guiding development and interpretation of data visualizations.
  • Read and interpret complex data models and SQL queries, contributing to data understanding and validation.
  • Prepare technical specifications for data engineering teams, facilitating accurate data pipeline development.
  • Create and maintain essential data dictionaries and mapping documents for clarity and consistency.
  • Leverage Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for documentation and task tracking, ensuring organized project execution.
  • Utilize Excel, Visio, or Lucidchart for creating clear process and data flow diagrams.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, specifically within a data or BI context.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to translate high-level business needs into structured requirements.
  • Experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, and process mapping.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, particularly Power BI Service and its semantic layer, and DAX.
  • Ability to read and interpret data models and SQL queries.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in SQL.
  • Competency with Excel, Visio, or Lucidchart for diagramming.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms, including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
