This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all carriers meet strict compliance standards before onboarding, maintaining up-to-date records, and mitigating risks associated with carrier partnerships. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operations, safety, and dispatch teams to ensure seamless compliance within the brokerage network.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough vetting of carriers to ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and internal regulations.
  • Monitor carrier safety scores, insurance coverage, authority status, and overall performance to mitigate risk.
  • Maintain and verify up-to-date carrier compliance records, including insurance certificates, operating authority, and safety ratings.
  • Regularly review and update carrier compliance status using Highway's online portal.
  • Identify and flag carriers with compliance violations and work with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Recommend and implement compliance best practices to streamline operations and reduce risks.
  • Work closely with the dispatch, operations, and safety teams to ensure all contracted carriers meet the company's compliance standards.
Requirements
  • Experience in carrier compliance, safety, or risk management within a freight brokerage, trucking, or logistics company.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and Highway regulations related to carrier vetting.
  • Proficiency in using DAT, Truckstop, ITS Dispatch, and Highway (online compliance portal).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English to effectively interact with carriers, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with carrier insurance requirements, safety scores, and federal trucking regulations.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to assess carrier risks and maintain compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing multiple compliance tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to maintain compliance records and coordinate with teams.
