Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled linguist with expertise in Japanese to facilitate effective communication between teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate various content types from English to Japanese and vice versa.
  • Produce and edit transcripts according to our style guide.
  • Evaluate translations for accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Proofread and edit translated material for grammar, consistency, and terminology.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to clarify concepts and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Maintain and update translation memory tools, glossaries, and style guides.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on translated documents.
  • Meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in English and Japanese with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of grammar, sentence structure, and the relationship between spoken and written language.
  • Japanese language certification at B1 or B2 level (JLPT N2 or N3 or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a professional translator or in a similar role (typically 2+ years preferred). Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Familiarity with translation tools and software is a plus.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to target audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Certification in translation is a plus.
  • Specialized knowledge in areas such as Automotive is a plus.
  • Experience with localization projects and multilingual content management is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Languages, Communications, or a related field.
