About the Role

As a Mainframe Performance Specialist, you will be responsible for solving complex problems and identifying potential future issues across various platforms and services. You will work at the forefront of new technology and modernization, collaborating with some of our biggest clients worldwide.

No two days are alike in this role, as you will manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You will oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

We work with clients in various industries, from banking to retail, offering opportunities to broaden your knowledge base or specialize in a specific sector. As a Mainframe Performance Specialist, you will also get the chance to share your expertise by recommending modernization options, identifying new business opportunities, and cultivating relationships with other teams and stakeholders.

This is a challenging role that requires strong analytical and documentation skills. You must be a team player with excellent communication and technical skills, able to perform diagnostics and root cause analysis. Additionally, you will be required to provide 24/7 on-call support and capacity planning for processor, DASD, and physical processors (CECs) for various customers.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in performance tuning of systems, practicing capacity planning activity during system up-gradation, and proactively managing capacity planning on a regular basis.
  • Clear understanding of SMF and analyzing and drawing insights from SMF data processing.
  • Experience with Workload Load Manager (WLM), Parallel Sysplex configurations, multiple LPAR environments, and capacity/performance reporting and modeling.
  • System performance understanding of mainframe components covering ZOS, JES, CICS, DB2, and IMS.
  • Thorough knowledge in Performance analysis & tuning for ZOS operating environment / DASD / Tape storage systems.
