The Head Geology - Mines (Aluminium) role is a crucial part of this endeavour, requiring a skilled geologist to unlock increased value and growth for the business. As Chief Geology Officer - Mine Operations, you will be responsible for strategic planning, resource management, and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing annual exploration targets and production plans to ensure optimal mine operations
  • Providing technical inputs on geological surveys, such as drone and lidar surveys, to inform future works
  • Maintaining accurate records of mine equipment, production capacity, and cash flow projections
  • Collaborating with the team to establish best practices in all processes and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Adopting new technologies and innovations to enhance efficiency and productivity

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree in Geology or a related field
  • At least 15 years of experience in coal mining, preferably in a senior geologist or chief geologist position
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Minex Geological Modelling, and 3D Civil
  • Experience in coal quality handling and sufficient knowledge of BIS process and standards
  • Total understanding of coal quality process and analysis systems
