Job Title: Data Analyst - Cloud Era Big Data Administrator

Are you looking for a challenging role as a Cloud Era Big Data Administrator? We are seeking an experienced professional to manage and maintain our big data platform.

This position involves handling day-to-day operations, administering and monitoring big data platform components, and supporting technical and application teams. If you have expertise in Hadoop, Hive, HBase, BigSQL, and other related technologies, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage big data platforms and troubleshoot issues related to user queries and application jobs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot big data platforms, including hosted DBs, tools, and services.
  • Create encryption zones, manage encryption keys, and copy data between the encryption zones.
  • Support projects and initiatives related to data acquisition, processing, and utilization through big data platforms.
  • Maintain and support big data platforms, including CDP Private Cloud and IBM BigSQL, across multiple environments.
  • Install new versions, patches, and upgrades of CDP Private Cloud and IBM BigSQL.
  • Work with end users to identify and resolve issues and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field of study.
  • At least 35 years of experience in Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Spark, Scala, Yarn, Sqoop, Ranger, Knox, Kerberos, LDAP, SOLR).
  • 6 years of experience with Java and Linux/Unix.
  • 4 years of experience with security scripting and automation.
  • 2 years of experience in R, Python, Flume, Storm, Kafka.
  • 2 years of experience with IBM BigSQL or similar MPP SQL engines.
  • 2 years of experience with MySQL.
  • 1 year of experience with CICD.
Preferred Skills:
  • Administration and performance tuning of Hadoop distributions (open-source and commercial).
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud-based PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Experience with AWS EMR.
  • Strong communication skills.
