Job Title

A network security consultant is a highly skilled professional responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on securing networks, applications, and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively enhance security protections.

The job involves conducting detailed security assessments and risk analyses of network infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats. Additionally, it includes developing and implementing robust security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect data and systems.

The Security Consultant will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and managing security tools and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection. They will also lead incident response initiatives, including threat hunting, forensic analysis, and remediation activities following security breaches.

Monitoring network traffic and system activity for anomalous behaviour and potential security incidents is another key responsibility of this role. The Security Consultant must ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and laws by preparing detailed reports and documentation on security findings for stakeholders.

Providing expert guidance and recommendations on security improvements and collaborating closely with internal IT teams to secure network infrastructure and design solutions are critical tasks in this role. Educating clients and staff on security best practices through awareness programs and training sessions to reduce human error is also an essential part of this job.
