Eco City-Regions Initiative aims to develop resilient and productive regions that uphold regenerative development principles and social well-being for all. Our team is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the development and implementation of this initiative.

About the Role:

  • Provide strategic guidance and technical support to the Eco City-Regions team and city partners/stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of integrated urban and regional plans, urban ecology frameworks, and climate resilient infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the Eco City-Regions initiative.
  • Support the analysis and review of existing and upcoming initiatives, guiding the shaping of deliverables.
  • Communicate closely with WRI India internal team members to meet project objectives and periodic progress reporting.
  • Undertake and/or supervise primary and secondary research, on-site project activities, and technical reviews and inputs.
  • Oversee logistical processes and technical design support for deliverables related to planned project activities.
  • Support in reviewing technical notes, letters, and research or communication outreach materials.
  • Supervise project monitoring and overall activity progress, highlighting gaps and delays to internal and/or external reporting lines.
  • Manage local financial transactions and disbursement, reporting as per the stipulated WRI India working manual.
  • Support relationship management with donors and implementation partners as needed.
  • Organize events, local forums, workshops, and conferences based on project needs and relevance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • PhD/Masters or equivalent postgraduate degree in integrated urban and regional planning, regional strategy building, and urban design or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with state/regional planning initiatives, largescale action research projects, and experience with urban and regional planning, water sensitive urban planning, urban ecology, and integrated urban design.
  • Knowledge of Indian statutory frameworks, policies, and trends related to urban and regional growth strategies.
  • Experience with technological tools and methods such as growth modeling, spatial data analysis, remote sensing, and GIS tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing implementation projects, quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Experience in managing teams, donor partners, stakeholder relationships, and task management.
