Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Asst Mgr, Settlements. This role involves working with Equities and Fixed Income products to ensure timely trade matching and status updates to clients and brokers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure trades are prematched in a timely manner and status updated to client/agent/brokers within agreed timelines.
  • Inform clients/brokers on required amendments and follow up to obtain the same.
  • Adhere to Maker/Checker controls and follow activities checklist.
  • Identify and highlight open risk areas in the process and report to management for resolution.
Strategy

Understand bank goals and work towards their fulfillment.

Business Operations

Knowledge of Custody operations, Securities Settlements, Financial Market Operations is required. Agent banking, Sub-Custody operations, and clearing knowledge will be an added advantage.

Processes
  • Processing of Settlements transactions, Prematching of trades, and Reporting of Trade Status.
  • Ensuring trades are sent to market within stipulated cutoff time and ensuring funding/re-apatrition of funds.
  • Checking of Funds and Holdings prior to settlements.
  • Handling Failed trades by updating with correct reasons.
  • Booking FX deals and confirming rates to clients/agents based on SI from clients/agents.
  • Contractual Settlements processing.
  • Resolving open items in Suspense/Nostro/Stock reconciliations.
  • BAU escalation handling.
  • Process improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to understand work plans and organize own work effectively.
  • Able to identify sudden changes at a transactional level.
  • Raise issues when seeing tasks at risk.
  • Complete work as assigned.
Risk Management
  • Understanding various risks at transactional level and mandatory actions.
  • Escalating issues to senior management within parameters of role.
  • Describing and understanding operations risk.
  • Awareness on transactional level fraud.
Governance Framework

Awareness of Group policies and procedures and risk mitigation.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding highest standards of ethics.
  • Lead the team to achieve outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.

  • Country/RM/Brokers/Clients.
Qualification Requirements
  • Six or more years of experience in Operations/Finance. Experience in trade settlement operations is required.
  • Undergraduate degree is must. Post graduate Degree is added advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in basic match and analytical skill.
