Job Title: Social Development Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Social Development Expert to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social safeguard strategies and plans for infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social development disciplines, with expertise in gender program development, gender mainstreaming, and capacity building in infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement social safeguard strategies and plans for infrastructure projects
  • Provide technical guidance on social development disciplines, including gender program development and mainstreaming
  • Build capacity of project teams on social and gender safeguards
  • Conduct social and environmental assessments to identify potential impacts on communities
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement social safeguard policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or Equivalent in Social development disciplines
  • Specialist in Sociology / Anthropology / Social Work and/or Development Studies
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in preparing, implementing, and monitoring social safeguards strategies and plans and social development schemes associated with infrastructure projects (preferably in Water Supply & Sanitation sector)
  • Experience in gender program development, progressively responsible for gender mainstreaming, management of strategic capacity building on gender
