Cloud Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, scripting/programming, monitoring, and cost optimization with a passion for improving reliability and efficiency.

About the Role:
  • Act as the go-to expert for monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Closely track daily/weekly usage, spending patterns, and billing reports, and highlight anomalies
  • Develop and maintain scripts/automation (Python, Bash, or similar) for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency improvements
  • Work with engineering teams to right-size compute, storage, and database resources
  • Identify and implement reserved instances, savings plans, auto-scaling policies, and storage lifecycle policies to reduce spend
  • Leverage native tools like AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, GCP Billing, as well as third-party monitoring platforms
  • Contribute to SRE practices by monitoring infrastructure reliability while balancing costs
Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP services (EC2, S3, IAM, GKE, BigQuery, etc.)
  • Experience in cloud cost monitoring & optimization
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Bash, Shell, etc.)
  • Understanding of SRE concepts: reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation
  • Prior experience in cost analysis and optimization for enterprise workloads
