Strategic Lead Gen AI Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Lead Gen AI Engineer to join our freelance talent network.

This individual will be responsible for leading the ideation and design of innovative generative AI solutions, translating client needs into actionable solution concepts, defining the architecture, data strategy, model selection, and tooling required for success.

  • Solution Leadership: Engage directly with clients to understand their business challenges and lead the development of strategic AI solutions.
  • Technical Architecture: Define the technical roadmap for AI projects, including data strategy, model selection, and tooling requirements.
  • Project Ownership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI solutions, ensuring technical quality, alignment with business goals, and timely execution of project milestones.
  • Team Mentorship: Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, including engineers and data scientists, fostering best practices and ensuring project accountability.
  • Hands-on Contribution: Remain hands-on with tools, models, and code to prototype, build, and troubleshoot complex components of the application.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience leading technical teams and taking ownership of the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions.
  • Strong, client-facing communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of generative AI technologies, including LLMS (e.g., GPT, CLAUD, LLaMA), RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, and agentic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy AI solutions using Python and relevant frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LLaMA Index).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based ML/AI services such as AWS SageMaker, Azure OpenAI, or Google Vertex AI.
