Biomedical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biomedical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the research and development of medical devices, equipment, and technology.

  • Research and Development: Participate in brainstorming sessions, conduct literature reviews, and develop prototypes to advance medical device technology.
  • Design and Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test medical devices, ensuring they meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data from experiments and tests, and present findings to senior engineers or project teams for evaluation and decision-making.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, FDA).
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation throughout the development process, including design specifications, testing procedures, and progress reports.
  • Collaboration: Integrate various components into a cohesive medical system through close collaboration with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, and medical professionals.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining existing medical equipment in clinical settings, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Prototyping and Fabrication: Collaborate with manufacturing teams during the fabrication process and assist in creating prototypes.
  • Continuing Education: Stay informed about advancements in biomedical engineering and related technologies through attending workshops, conferences, and online courses.
  • Safety and Risk Assessment: Participate in safety and risk assessments of medical devices, identifying potential hazards and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to healthcare professionals and end-users of medical equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of biomedical engineering principles, experience with design and testing tools, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Qualifications: Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, FDA), knowledge of data analysis and interpretation techniques.
