Responsible AI Engineer Role Overview

T3 is a leading provider of AI solutions for governance, risk & compliance (GRC) and responsible AI. We have trained 20 governments and supported two of the three global big tech companies in advancing their AI governance and assurance programmes.

We are expanding into solutions at the intersection of responsible AI and GRC – working directly with regulators, standards bodies, and highly regulated industries to set the benchmark for trustworthy AI.

The Role: Senior AI Engineering Lead

We seek a senior engineer or exceptional graduate/post-doctoral researcher with significant experience in AI and machine learning. This individual will shape architecture, lead delivery, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with T3’s responsible AI specialists and regulatory experts.

  • Architecture & Build: Define and lead the architecture of new systems, integrate open-source AI testing libraries, and deliver lightweight, portable solutions in cloud environments.
  • AI Model Testing: Build and rigorously test models against fairness, robustness, explainability, and governance principles, implement reproducible pipelines, and create dashboards suitable for supervisors, standards bodies, and clients.
  • Collaboration & Growth: Partner with global responsible AI leaders, translate complex requirements into practical solutions, contribute to pilots, client delivery, and the long-term technical roadmap.

This role combines stability with equity participation, offering opportunities for growth and leadership in a pioneering field.

To succeed, you will require:

  • Proven track record building, training, and evaluating AI/ML models.
  • Experience developing or integrating AI testing tools strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML/AI libraries.
  • Experience with cloud computing and knowledge of scaling, training, and deployment of AI models.
  • Awareness of responsible AI frameworks and hands-on familiarity with explainability and fairness tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity, self-drive, and ambition to grow into a senior technical leadership role.
