The Role

We are seeking a PhD-level Artificial Intelligence Specialist to lead the development of our core intelligence. This role requires expertise in information retrieval, scalable backend systems, and generative AI.

  • Bulk Semantic Search Pipeline Development: Build graph-based retrieval systems and semantic search pipelines.
  • Scalable API Design: Deploy APIs and services for hundreds of concurrent requests.
  • Vector Database Architectures: Implement and productionize vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems.
  • Generative AI Integration: Work on GenAI integrations including prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, and agent design.
  • Full-Stack Search Engine Setup: Set up full-stack search engines from scratch for real-world academic workloads.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will experiment, innovate, and deploy production systems impacting researchers worldwide.

Requirements

A strong background in semantic search, vector databases, LLM frameworks, agent-based systems, and document retrieval.

  • Proficient in Python for backend development with scalable APIs and services.
  • Past experience deploying systems at scale, including search engines, retrieval pipelines, or embedding models.
  • Ability to design infrastructure for high-traffic systems.
  • Experience setting up and hosting APIs with public access while balancing speed, cost, and reliability.
