Overview of the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, including performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex system issues, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Optimize system performance by implementing efficient configuration settings and software upgrades.

  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect our systems from potential threats.

  • Maintain knowledge of various Linux distributions and open-source development methodologies.

  • Perform package management using RPM and other tools to ensure system integrity.

  • Install and configure software from source code, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.

  • Develop shell scripts in languages such as Bash, Perl, and Python to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

  • Manage system services and logging to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Develop and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 60% marks.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong leadership and collaboration abilities.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Linux/Unix/Windows/BSD system administration.

  • Certifications like MCP, MCSE, RHCE, RHCT are highly desirable.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
