Job Title: Legal Officer

The role of a legal officer is pivotal in ensuring the institution's legal integrity and compliance with laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Advice and Compliance: Provide timely and accurate legal advice on various matters to senior management and ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contract and Document Management: Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including memoranda of understanding and standard agreements with external parties.
  • Litigation Management: Coordinate with the university and external legal advisors on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.
  • Policy Development: Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing policies, and formulate new ones.
  • Grievance and Dispute Resolution: Serve as a member secretary for committees and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with registration with the Bar Council of India.
  • Minimum of six years' experience as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization preferably in the education sector demonstrating hands-on application of legal knowledge.
  • Possess strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Knowledge of the local language is essential.
