Job Title: Head of Finance

This is a diverse role requiring a highly commercial and analytical individual who is also prepared to get their hands dirty whilst the business is relatively early stage. The role combines responsibility for managing the finance function as well as a wider remit acting as an analyst for other teams.

The analytical part of the role is to measure and analyze business performance including future projections, and to disseminate this information through accurate dashboards and KPIs with subsequent comments and recommendations to internal clients allowing them to take business decisions in line with financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and execution of audits over financial reporting and preparing internal audit reports.
  • Responsible for all accounting related issues.
  • Monitor financial details to ensure that legal requirements are met.
  • Financial reporting and budgeting, reporting to management.
  • Review company financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs and manage budget.
  • Responsible for controlling income, cash flow and expenditure. Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information.
  • Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
  • Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
  • Responsible for preparing and managing the process of procurement, stock/inventory, maintaining records of debtors and creditors.
  • Responsible for payroll management.
  • Responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly MIS.

Commercial Analyst - perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking for both the business and other teams:

  • Daily sales reporting.
  • Analyze financial data and create/maintain financial models for decision support.
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Represent finance within other teams to ensure that business planning, accounting, and control are integrated into the decision-making process.
  • Participate in finance and multi-function project teams.
  • Work closely with senior finance leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
  • Benchmarking analysis.

Person Specification:

  • Strong English language skills.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • 5+ years pharmaceutical experience preferable.
  • International company experience.
  • Management experience to include liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical.
  • Proven track record of delivering results.
  • Self-disciplined, results-focused with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible approach to work to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Power BI and CRM systems.
