About the Opportunity
Tata Consultancy Services, a global leader in IT services and consulting, is seeking an experienced Android Automotive Domain Lead to join our team.
As an Android Automotive Domain Lead, you will be responsible for designing architecture that is scalable, modular, and reusable with high performance. You will also assist the team in developing high-quality software, conduct requirement analysis and discussion with stakeholders, perform quality control, provide technical leadership to the development team, and support members of the team with mentoring, pairing, code reviewing, and driving the adoption of best practices.

Responsibilities
- Design architecture that is scalable, modular, and reusable with high performance.
- Assist the team in developing high-quality software.
- Conduct requirement analysis and discussion with stakeholders.
- Perform quality control.
- Provide technical leadership to the development team.
- Support members of the team with mentoring, pairing, code reviewing, and driving the adoption of best practices.
- Manage technical communication with customers.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in Android Automotive based application development for In-Vehicle Infotainment systems.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented design and design patterns, clean architecture rules, and CTS/VTS.
- Deep understanding of AOSP code and Architecture, Android-based applications, and integration with external components.
- Working experience of customizing System Apps, Google certification process, timeline, and challenges involved, AA/CP certification process, Android SDK, NDK, JNI, AVD (along with GAS applications), third-party libraries and APIs, Good Unit testing experience, Automotive ASPICE development experience, work on latest Android versions (Beyond Android Pie), experience in code migration to latest android version, impact analysis, Jetpack, dependency injection, Android Architecture Components, Audio/Video Framework, Animation, Canvas, UML state diagrams, sequence diagrams, Code debugging and defect analysis.
- Good-to-Have: Knowledge of VHAL architecture, Camera HAL, Exterior View System (EVS), integrating GAS (Google Automotive Services) applications, Google certification process, timeline, and challenges involved, in-depth understanding of Audio flinger, surface flinger, Keyboard management in Android, Harkey (keycode) management in Android, exposure to Smartphone integration features like AA/CP, OEM customization required in AOSP and GAS applications, Automotive Embedded Development and Testing tools (IDE, Vector CAN tools like CANoe, GENy), Exposure to Requirements Managements tools (like DOORS, Polarion, Confluence), Design tools (like EA), Configuration management tools (like Plastic SCM, GIT) and tracking tool like JIRA, Exposure to CI/CD pipeline, Good working exposure with teams across different geographies, SW development experience following Agile methodologies, Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, Experience of customer-facing Role.
