Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Lead to join our team at Assystem. As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for reviewing and executing engineering activities for solar power plants, including module cleaning systems, HVAC requirements, and fire-fighting systems. You will also facilitate the development of BIM 3D models for PV solar power plants and coordinate with other departments to ensure inter-departmental checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents
  • Ensure deliveries are aligned to project schedule
  • Review drawings by design engineers and draughts persons, checking design and sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from clients
  • Review of vendor deliverables pertaining to engineering
  • Capable of multitasking and delivering multiple tasks on time
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements
  • Review BOQ and submit to contracts team, providing technical clarifications
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines for ensuring inter-departmental checks
  • Provide support and clarifications to site execution team
  • Check pre-award evaluation of vendors (w.r.t. technical specifications requirement of the client) and forward the validation document to supply chain management
  • Inspect equipment from the finalized vendor after submission of validation document of the vendor
  • Clarify issues w.r.t. the design and requirements of the client to the site execution team
  • Collect inputs for project details (water sample report, site weather report, bore well locations) from client and project engineering manager
  • Coordinating with operations team and informing design specifications for obtaining approval
  • Collect inputs for project details (general arrangement drawings) from vendors
  • Check deliverables such as HVAC, fire-fighting, and module cleaning systems layouts
  • Provide support to electrical AC/DC, civil/structural for reviewing vendor drawings
  • Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking and reviewing of design and drawings of the project
Requirements

Minimum qualification: BE Mechanical Engineering or M. Tech

Experience: 7-10 years (must have experience in design aspects of solar PV power plants/power distribution projects)

Additional Information

The design lead shall be capable of designing pipe size, piping layout, heat load requirement, as well as cross-checking the calculations done by design engineers. The design lead shall have expertise in design module cleaning system, HVAC, FF for solar power plant. The design lead should also have detailed knowledge of solar PV power plants. The design lead is required to have knowledge on national and international codes and standards. The design lead is required to understand and interpret the contractual technical requirements and facilitate the project teams as and when required.
