Role Overview

The Amex Group is looking for a highly skilled Compliance Manager to join its Global Merchant and Network Services Compliance organization. As a Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in protecting the company's brand and colleagues through practical guidance on regulatory and ethics-related matters. In this position, you will support the development and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive compliance program for the Global Merchant Services business in the APAC region. You will also provide expert advice and challenge to the business on the design and implementation of new products, customer interactions, processes, and controls to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal teams to implement new regulations impacting the Global Merchant Services business and remediation activities as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance program for the Global Merchant Services business in APAC
- Provide expert compliance advice and challenge to the business on the design and implementation of new products, customer interactions, processes, and controls to comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

- Experience working in a second-line compliance function
- Proven ability to understand legal and regulatory requirements and convey regulatory intent and risk to first-line teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks
- Self-motivated, energetic team player with a proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and across international markets with all levels of management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop effective compliance policies, procedures, and controls
- Bachelor's degree and/or compliance/legal qualification
