Job Overview

A Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing procedures, automation scripts, and infrastructure implementations to support our SaaS operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux, scripting, and cloud technology, with experience in implementing and managing complex cloud-based systems. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SaaS products to our customers.

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to Production Operations teams.
  • Implement the goals and deliverables of the Cloud Operations team as determined by Sycamore Leadership.
  • Ensure smooth operations of our SaaS products.
  • Take ownership of Customer Implementations, including Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Service Level Objectives (SLO).
  • Automate, enhance, and maintain critical processes in Cloud Operations.
  • Drive critical processes in SaaS Operations, such as Change Control, Problem & Incident Management, and Reporting.
  • Drive Disaster Recovery and failover procedures, training, testing, and team readiness.
  • Coordinate focus groups across all teams on process improvements and technical enhancements.
  • Contribute to process improvements and technical enhancements that lead to increased stability and reliability.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how to build, scale, and manage complex multi-product/service environments, and be able to effectively communicate project/program mission and objectives.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in implementing, managing, maintaining, and decommissioning complex cloud-based Information system components in a secure and controlled manner.
  • Strong understanding of how to build, scale, and manage complex multi-product/service environments.
  • Building lean, automated, scalable support structures versus labor-intensive environments.
  • Strong innovation mindset, analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience effectively communicating project/program mission and objectives.
