Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineering Leader to spearhead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and performant data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in GCP's comprehensive suite of data services, modern cloud data architecture patterns, and best practices in data engineering. They will be instrumental in translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, ensure data reliability, and support advanced analytics and AI initiatives that deliver significant business value.

About the Role

This pivotal position will involve leading the development of cutting-edge data architectures, designing and implementing efficient data pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of driving technological advancements, fostering collaboration among teams, and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable data architectures on GCP, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead the development of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions, utilizing tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and GCP platform updates, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improve existing processes.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ years of extensive experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics, with at least 3 years in a dedicated data architect or solutions architect role.
  • A proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions specifically on Google Cloud Platform, with expertise in core and advanced GCP data services.
  • Exceptional proficiency in SQL (with a focus on BigQuery optimization), Python (including libraries like Pandas, NumPy), and other relevant programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling techniques, designing data warehousing/data lakehouse architectures, and working with ETL/ELT tools, orchestration frameworks, and API-driven data integration.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager for provisioning GCP resources, and understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications

A certification in Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect would be advantageous, demonstrating your commitment to staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
