Job Title: Cloud Platform Operations Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage our Google Cloud Platform operations and drive development tasks. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in managing hybrid cloud environments, ensuring platform availability, and developing operational dashboards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing administrative tasks such as user access, service accounts creation, and provisioning Cloud Security. Additionally, they will monitor day-to-day performance of GCP services, taking proactive steps to avoid failures or data pipelines execution slowness.

The role also involves managing upgrades for GCP services, including Cloud Composer, collaborating with cloud engineering teams to enable/configure GCP services, ensuring Data Security, PII Tagging, Authorizations, and working with Compliance teams to support regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • User access management
    • Service accounts creation
    • Provisioning Cloud Security
  • GCP Services Management:
    • Managing upgrades for GCP services
    • Collaborating with cloud engineering teams
  • Data Security and Compliance:
    • Ensuring Data Security
    • PII Tagging

  • Tech Support:
    • Providing technical support to GCP users
    • Troubleshooting issues
    • Resolving errors

GCP Development Responsibilities:

  • Leading offshore platform engineers in supporting development tasks
  • Developing CI/CD pipelines for deployment of artifacts
  • Creating dashboards in Looker for Big Query performance monitoring, slots management, and user queries
  • Collaborating with Platform Architects to build new capabilities/frameworks or setting up policies/guidelines for development teams
  • Performing POCs of new GCP services, including Big Query features and implementation
  • Working with Cloud Security to build security frameworks and perform vulnerability assessments to detect/resolving platform security issues
  • Developing Data Engineering pipelines for Data Ingestion into GCP Platform/Big Query
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in administering GCP services, including Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Pub/Sub, Big Query, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer, and DataProc
  • Experience with ETL processes, streaming data, Kafka, API, and SQL
  • Proficiency in scripting using Python and Windows/Unix commands
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git/Jenkins workflows, and SDLC cycles supporting multiple non-production and production environments
  • Automation of deployment and configuration updates is a plus
  • Experience in cluster performance tuning and Big Query optimization is a plus
  • Google Cloud Certification is preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
