Merchant of Fine Apparel

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Garment Merchant to manage the entire merchandising process from initial inquiry to final delivery.

• Main Responsibilities:
• Act as the key liaison between buyers and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
• Develop a deep understanding of buyer requirements, creating samples that meet their needs and obtaining timely approvals.
• Prepare and maintain detailed calendars for each order, tracking progress and deadlines.
• Source raw materials, oversee production schedules, and ensure adherence to quality parameters.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure trims and fabrics efficiently.
• Monitor order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to prevent delays and disruptions.
• Compile costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers, driving cost savings and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, providing valuable insights for future improvement.
• E nsure compliance with quality standards and buyer expectations, upholding our reputation for excellence.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with buyers and suppliers.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems.
• In-depth knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction, with a passion for staying up-to-date on industry trends.
