Job Dimensions (Role and Responsibilities)

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Life and Health Reinsurance team servicing our Indian clients. In this role, based in Mumbai, the new team member will play an integral part in the development of our Indian Life and Health Reinsurance business with a strong focus on Group Insurance solutions.

The role will focus on identifying and understanding our Life and Health insurance clients' objectives and reinsurance needs and winning the right to place these reinsurance arrangements into the local and overseas reinsurance markets on their behalf.

Responsibilities

  • A core member of Aon's Life and Health Reinsurance broking team, reporting to the Head of Life Reinsurance for India.
  • Contribute to the development of our service offering, marketing, and value proposition to existing and prospective clients.
  • Provide timely and insightful analysis on industry developments, market insights, and competitor landscape.
  • Prepare and review the insurance and marketing information needed for undertaking reinsurance tenders, negotiating with reinsurers on behalf of our clients, and completing reinsurance transactions.
  • Present the terms and conditions, the risks, and the economics of a reinsurance transaction to potential stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with (re)insurance markets to expand the current (re)insurance offering to provide flexibility and capacity to our clients.
  • Assist the Head of Life Reinsurance in the ongoing review, development, and execution of Aon's overall strategy for Life and Health reinsurance business in India.

  • Insurance and/or reinsurance pricing and tendering experience.
  • Natural taste for tackling challenges and creating new market norms.

Skills and Attitude

  • Enthusiastic dedication to clients with a winning spirit.
  • University graduate in Business, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related fields such as Finance or Statistical studies.
  • Actuarial qualification or working towards actuarial qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the life insurance industry working in consulting, product development, marketing, or analytical roles. Reinsurance experience would be a major plus.
  • Self-motivated, holds oneself accountable, and takes ownership for problem resolution.
  • Able to prioritize under the pressure of competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to engage senior levels within internal and external organizations.
