Job Description

This role leads a team of data scientists responsible for developing, monitoring, and continuously enhancing best-in-class models/algorithms to assess risk, churn, and uptake across the customer life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning end-to-end delivery of models/algorithms across customer life cycle
  • Developing innovative credit risk/churn/usage models using mobile wallet transaction data, call data, telecom usage data, and customer bureau data
  • Defining a roadmap for data collection across telcos, credit bureaus, merchant partners, and other 3rd-party data sources; delivering on prioritized initiatives to continuously refine models
  • Partnering with the Data Engineering team to define required data pipelines to build and enhance the feature bank (foundational capability) to build/deploy various ML algorithms for batch and real-time use cases
  • Collaborating with credit policy/portfolio management teams to drive P&L outcomes
  • Building reports for model monitoring and driving enhancements
Requirements & Qualifications

We seek an experienced Data Science Team Lead with a solid expertise in end-to-end risk model lifecycle management (develop, deploy, monitor).

Required qualifications include:

  • Previous hands-on experience in credit, fraud, churn model development and deployment
  • Previous experience in PD/EAD/LGD model development/validation
  • Experience in CSI/PSI model monitoring process
  • Hands-on experience in data extraction using SQL/Pyspark SQL; data cleaning, feature creation, and building models using PySpark/Python on Spark; scale will be a plus
  • Experience leading a data science team with functional ownership/responsibilities
  • Previous exposure to algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost, Markov Chain, PSI/CSI for model monitoring, Strategy performance tracking, and swap in/swap out analysis

A strong entrepreneurial drive and good business understanding of the fintech/consumer finance space are also essential. Experience in working with credit card/personal lending space, especially in fintech, and hands-on experience in working with telecom data are highly desirable.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary range is $150,000 - $200,000, depending on location and experience.
