About this Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Senior Bioinformatician.

Job Description:

This is an opportunity to work with a talented team on cutting-edge projects. The successful candidate will have strong programming skills in either Python or R and should have some open source code available for review on platforms such as Github.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain novel bioinformatics tools to improve our NGS pipeline.
  • Actively enhance our NGS pipelines using publicly available tools and databases.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to integrate these tools into research projects.
  • Analyze and interpret data and contribute to writing and reporting of research findings.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of in-house bioinformatics software.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong programming skills in either Python or R.
  • Experience in DNA-seq analysis.
  • Open source code available for review on platforms such as Github.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix environment, working with tools like Docker and writing shell scripts.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in software development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, computer science or a related field preferred.
