Network Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and performance of our data communications and networking infrastructure.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cloud Environment Configuration: Understand and configure various Azure cloud environments, including vNets, UDRs, NSG, ALBs, using Microsoft provided tools and interfaces.
  2. Network Equipment Installation and Management: Install, configure, monitor, and manage network and data communications equipment, including hubs, routers/switches, intrusion detection systems, VPN concentrators, load balancers, SDWAN connections, and firewalls.
  3. Network Monitoring and Capacity Planning: Provide ongoing monitoring of networks and data communications facilities using approved network management tools, including access to telecommunication carriers and managing connection equipment. Perform regular capacity planning to ensure network performance meets anticipated requirements, monitor capacity, and work with carriers to adjust capacity as needed.
  4. Internet Access Management: Responsible for internet access, including installing, configuring, maintaining routers and firewalls, configuring routing protocols, and monitoring performance.
  5. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot all network problems, open issues in Problem and Change Management databases, record resolution, provide tier 2 support, and ensure all issues are resolved as per published service levels or escalate as necessary. Provide maintenance to equipment as required.
  6. Documentation and Communication: Maintain all technical configuration documents and review/update processes and procedures and maintain appropriate documentation. Provide weekly updates of work activity to the Manager, Network Operations and/or Director of Network Operations.
  7. Project Participation: Participate on project teams working with Infrastructure teams or Network Engineers/Architects; develop a detailed plan broken down by task for implementation.
  8. Customer Interaction: Work with internal and external customers to convert requirements into actionable change requests for implementation.
  9. Availability and Professional Development: On call 24 duties; occasional travel may be necessary. Develop and keep current a personal professional education plan with the assistance of your supervisor/manager.
