About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing assessment reports, utilizing their expertise in Steel Composite, Pretension / Posttension structures.

Key responsibilities include carrying out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair, preparing new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards, ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
  • Prepare new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards.
  • Carry out design and assessment checks under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
  • Prepare or assist others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines.
  • Follow QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines on all work.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of bridge design principles and practices.
  • Experience working with Steel Composite, Pretension / Posttension structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
