Job Title

Director, Data Protection Officer Responsibilities:

  • Lead the relationship with India's data protection authority and oversee our relationships with other authorities in key regions.
  • Develop processes to carry out DPO responsibilities, advising on key decisions and assessing compliance programs.
  • Provide strategic leadership within the global DPO program, ensuring compliance with mandated responsibilities for various regions.
  • Oversight of product and process execution against privacy law requirements, including reviewing DPIAs, DSR escalations, and advising on compliance.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and changes; anticipate bottlenecks and ensure user privacy is not compromised.

Key Qualifications:

  • 12+ years' experience in compliance, project management, operations, or strategy.
  • Engagement with regulators and complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience working within a product environment, partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Advising on data protection laws and privacy requirements.
  • Building and iterating on complex processes, requiring process and change management.
  • Strong communication, project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build new processes while driving standardization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy requirements, evaluating products or processes for compliance.
  • Experience implementing mandated DPO/acting as DPO requirements.
