Data governance is a critical aspect of an enterprise's information management strategy. It involves establishing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and consistent across the organization.

The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in building and supporting the tools and technology required to enable an enterprise data governance program.

Responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Tool Implementation: Act as a primary contributor for the tool implementation of data governance programs using popular tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.">
  • Solution Development: Build and support solutions for data governance in these tools to enable data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage of the enterprise's applications and data sources.">
  • Integration and Support: Enable enterprise-level integration of metadata stores for business users to search and understand information by developing standard business glossaries and data dictionaries.">
  • Custom Integrations: Build custom integrations between data governance tools and various data stores to map and view data lineage.">
  • Migration Support: Support the enterprise in migrating from existing (and different) data sources like SharePoint, Excel, etc. to a data governance tool.">
  • Workflow Management: Support implementing a workflow management system to optimize, improve, and automate data governance workflows for data stewards to increase output, eliminate repetition, and reduce errors.">
  • Quality Assurance: Implement means to track, investigate, and correct data quality issues in a data governance tool and support setting up data quality rules for data validation and standardization.">

Experience & Skills Required:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • ">
  • Degree: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.">
  • Hands-on Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement data governance programs.">
  • Data Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area.">
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.">
  • Consulting Skills: Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.">
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.">
  • Certifications: Certifications on these tools are a plus.">
