Reliability Engineering Expert
Site reliability engineering combines development and operations knowledge to drive business success. If you have a background in SRE or development with experience in improving service reliability by adding observability, our team can benefit from your expertise.

As a reliability engineer on the observability team, you will help us achieve our reliability goals. We seek someone with drive, ownership, and ability to tackle complex problems in a collaborative environment. You will work closely with product development teams, cloud infrastructure, and other teams to ensure effective observability and improve reliability of our products and infrastructure.

We use blameless postmortems and focus on automation to continuously improve knowledge and maintain a good quality of life. Our team values continuous improvement, learning, and dynamic day-to-day work where success is rewarded with recognition and mobility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Enlighten, enable, and empower multiple teams across applications and locations.
  2. Tackle complex development, automation, and business process problems while championing standards and best practices.
  3. Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience of our products and processes.
  4. Work with product development teams, cloud automation, and other teams for holistic understanding of observability gaps and their identification and resolution.
  5. Identify recurring problems and anti-patterns in development, operational, and security processes and help teams build observability for those.
  6. Develop automation that targets multiple regions.
  7. Contribute to open-source projects.


Required Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in distributed teams.
  • A passion for making things better for peers.
  • Experience managing AWS services and operational knowledge of managing applications in AWS – ideally via automation.
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language (Typescript, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Bash).
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (preferably Agile).
  • Experience with Observability (Logging, Metrics, Tracing) and SLI/SLO.
  • Working with APM, monitoring, and logging tools (Datadog, New Relic, Splunk).
  • Good understanding of containerization concepts (docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting and responding to incidents, setting standards to prevent future issues.


Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
  • Experience managing 3-tier application stacks.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with Server configuration through Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent.
  • Working experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Couchbase, Postgres, etc.).
  • Using APM data to troubleshoot and find performance bottlenecks.
