Key Responsibilities:

  • Design transformative system architectures to meet product needs and business scale.
  • Own high-level design of systems and low-level design of the domain, ensuring ease of maintenance and iteration.
  • Set goals for platform evolution and create a roadmap for achieving it.
  • Promote technical innovation and experimentation.
  • Align proposed system architecture with Principal Engineers and Engineering Leadership through a technical RFC process.

Requirements:

  • 8-12+ years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Experience designing distributed systems based on event-driven architecture handling significant scale.
  • Ownership of system performance metrics and system evolution.
  • Exposure to consumer-facing products.
  • Familiarity with our tech stack or analogous technologies.
  • Responsible for mentoring sizeable teams (10+ developers).

  • Server management: Amazon ECS, Containers, AWS Lambda.
  • Design frameworks: Domain Driven Design, Clean Architecture, Layered Architecture, Event-driven architecture.
