Backend Developer Position

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development of our maritime operations platform. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable back-end systems that meet the evolving needs of the maritime sector.

As a senior developer, you will be involved in all phases of software development from conceptualization through deployment. Your expertise will drive the creation of efficient, modular code and libraries that promote consistency across projects.

  • Contribute to the design and development of software architecture that ensures high-performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Take ownership of the product lifecycle, including requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, including writing comprehensive unit tests, to ensure high-quality code.
  • Develop reusable, modular code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes related to the products you own.
Requirements:
  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs using Django/Flask frameworks.
  • Expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in software development phases - requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache/Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or other web/app servers.
  • Experience with containerization tool Docker.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
