Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Specialist to join our organization. As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data analytics solutions that drive business growth and improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Create datasets from various sources, including databases, files, cloud storage, and analytics platforms.
  • Develop dataflows using ETL tools (SQL, formulas, rankings, pivots, etc.) and SQL transformations.
  • Implement personalized data access controls based on user requirements.
  • Manage data governance, metadata, and user management.
  • Design views with joining and union operations.
  • Maintain sandbox environments (dev, qa, prod instances).
  • Perform content migration/promotion.
  • Optimize performance and tuning of SQL queries.
  • Create applications, dashboards, and apply filters, global date filters, and formatting.
  • Develop charts/tables (bar, pie, line, gauge, table, pivot, etc.).
  • Apply drill-up/down/thru functionality on charts.
  • Design calculated fields (metrics) like weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly totals, and apply formatting and color rules.
  • Create variables and control filters.
  • Handle key performance indicators effectively.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS Cloud (DMS, S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift), is an asset.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence engineering.
  • Proficiency in pipeline/ETL, admin, SQL, Jira, data wrangling, and data quality.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata, and user management.
  • Ability to work with diverse data sources and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
