Senior Backend Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications and APIs. This role demands strong coding expertise, system design skills, and experience in building high-performance backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services & APIs, implement server-side logic, databases & data storage solutions, optimize database schemas, queries & indexes for efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization: Diagnose & resolve performance bottlenecks, implement caching & load balancing, ensure backend security against common threats (SQL injection, XSS, etc.).
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams, mentor junior developers & ensure coding best practices.
  • Testing and Deployment: Develop & run unit, integration & performance tests, monitor systems, troubleshoot issues & maintain uptime reliability.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
  • Strong experience with SQL & NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Expertise in RESTful & GraphQL API design.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture & containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) & CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of Git, version control & branching strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills.
