Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Modelling and Valuation

  • Develop detailed financial models with scenario analysis to assess investment opportunities.
  • Conduct Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), relative, Sum-of-the-Parts (SOTP) and other relevant valuation methods to estimate company value.
  • Create accurate assumptions and valuations with clear rationale to support investment decisions.

Investment Research and Idea Generation

  • Screen large datasets to identify potential investment ideas and provide Portfolio Managers/Chief Investment Officers with insights to inform their investment decisions.
  • Engage in discussions with Portfolio Managers/Chief Investment Officers to present investment ideas and stock updates.

Research and Communication

  • Prepare earnings reviews, previews, attend conference calls and management meetings to stay informed on market developments.
  • Develop pitch notes/presentations, industry and thematic notes to effectively communicate research findings.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent financial modelling and research report-writing/presentation making skills to create high-quality output.
  • Ability to think critically through drivers and KPIs across a broad range of sectors.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and effective communication skills to build trust and rapport.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple workflows with tight deadlines.
  • Numerical abilities to perform complex calculations.
  • Proficiency in building error-free models with well-defined revenue/cost driver assumptions.
  • Experience in carrying out earnings sensitivity analysis.
  • Able to provide own valuation views after conducting relative, DCF-based or industry appropriate valuations.
  • Effective writing skills to communicate complex information in a logical and structured manner.
  • Ability to link macro/industry analysis to the output.
  • Skilled in building engaging presentations.
