Job Title: Java Backend Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join our agile team. As a core member, you will drive user story analysis and elaboration, designing and developing responsive web applications using best engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform hand-on software development, writing code, unit tests, conducting proof of concepts, code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
  2. Refactor code and deliver continuous improvement.
  3. Develop deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.
  4. Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.
  5. Work closely with product managers, backend, and frontend engineers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems.
  6. Define requirements for new features and plan increments of work with Product Owners.
  7. Drive automation and ensure automated test scripts are completed for new features in partnership with QA Engineers.
  8. Design and build integration components and interfaces in collaboration with Senior Engineers, Architects, and Infrastructure Engineers as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience working in Java, demonstrating good Java knowledge.
  • Good attitude, communication, willingness to learn, and collaborate.
  • Experience working with Java 11 and above, Spring, Spring Boot, Dropwizard, JavaScript on Node.js stack, Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Selenium, WebDriverIO, Cucumber, JUnit, Mockito, and Maven.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and experience building scalable web applications using Java.
