Senior Structural Design Lead

This is a senior role within our engineering team, focusing on project work and liaison with key stakeholders. As part of this position, you will mentor and coach junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare feasibility study reports to meet client requirements, working closely with the local team lead.
  • Work collaboratively with our international team to assemble design specifications that meet client needs.
  • Agree and monitor the scope of works with the local team lead.
  • Clearly define building requirements and purposes of use with clients and stakeholders to facilitate detailed design.
  • Carry out detailed design in accordance with standard codes, QA, and technical review.
  • Review and monitor the production of calculations, including QA and technical reviews.
  • Ensure information for project costing preparation is completed accurately and to deadlines.
  • Co-ordinate project contracts documents and reviews input from team members.
  • Lead the design process and encourage the team to deliver effective solutions.
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in structural design, preferably in a similar role or with a strong track record.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical proficiency in software such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Fluency in English, with a strong grasp of technical terminology.
  • Good management and technical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Certifications:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Membership to an accredited engineering body.
  • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent desirable.
