Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Licensing Manager to join our team at Alcor Solutions, Inc.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in software licensing and asset management to drive business growth and efficiency.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Software Asset Management (SAM) process for a defined scope of publisher software.

This includes:

  • Managing key relationships with peer roles within the organization, such as Business Application Owners, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Service Catalog Managers, and Discovery Tools Owners;
  • Ensuring the quality and completeness of software asset records within the SAM tool, including entitlement and discovery models;
  • Escalating any issues pertaining to SAM managed process with the SAM Team Lead;
  • Executing reconciliation by comparing entitlements with discovered software to determine license compliance (Effective License Position) for defined scope of publisher software;
  • Ensuring the SAM system is accurately conducting reconciliation activities; troubleshoot and remediate where appropriate;
  • Gathering and reporting on process metrics, e.g., ELP, remediation opportunities, cost avoidance, application consolidation prospects, and savings;
  • Analyzing reconciliation reports to determine required actions to address software license non-compliance;
  • Analyzing software usage data and establishing/refining reclamation policies for infrequently used software installations;
  • Reviewing software license and maintenance contracts to identify risks, issues, and opportunities for peer stakeholders to remediate;
  • Collaborating with SAM Lead, peer stakeholders, and Senior Management in responding to license compliance audits, both internal and external to the organization;
  • Properly planning for the renewal of software licenses;
  • Ability to document, maintain, and help enforce SAM policy, processes, procedures;
  • Work on key Software Asset Management initiatives as defined by the Client.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 3-6 years of experience as a Software Asset Manager;
  • SAM tool experience, preferably with ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, or Aspera;
  • SAM certification, e.g., CSAM, CSM, ASM;
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, VLookups, etc.
  • Intermediate software licensing knowledge of Tier 1 software publishers, e.g., Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Adobe, and associated license metrics;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proven analytical and strong problem-solving skills;
  • Highly organized with an acute attention to detail;
  • Strong technical acumen;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
