
Senior Maintenance Planner

The Senior Maintenance Planner is a key role within our organization, responsible for planning and coordinating routine maintenance work to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities. This position plays a critical part in our team, overseeing the development of detailed plans and schedules to execute planned maintenance and project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Planning and Scheduling: The Senior Maintenance Planner will coordinate the planning and scheduling of all non-turnaround routine maintenance work at our site, performed by various crafts.
- Provide SME Support: Provide subject matter expertise (SME) support on planning, estimating, and scheduling for Chevron executed project work.
- Ensure Work Package Development: Ensure the development of work packages of consistent high quality in compliance with industry standards.
- Drive Accountability: Drive accountability regarding the use of standard planning and estimating tools and practices, as well as the growth and development of planners and schedulers.
- Deliver Quality Execution Plans: Deliver quality execution work plans and updates on scope status and forecast, collaborating with site representatives to determine work scope to be executed by maintenance teams.
- Integrate Schedules: Work closely with Operations to ensure schedules are effectively integrated into the operating plan.
- Partner with Asset Teams: Accountable to partner with the Asset Maintenance Team Leads in all crafts to feed planned work into the asset integrated plan/workflow and prepare the work for the field.
- Develop Tools and Reports: Develop tools to streamline cost and execution forecasting accuracy and report on status at individual project and portfolio level, seeking opportunities to improve planning and scheduling accuracy as well as to remove inefficiencies from planning and scheduling activities.
- Collaborate with Construction Services: Work with Construction Services team to integrate Chevron executed scope into a master project schedule.
- Communicate Scope Progress: Clearly communicate scope progress to customers, stakeholders, and team members, assisting in growing Routine/Planned Maintenance work process competency within the organization.
- Complete Lessons Learned Reviews: Ensure Lessons Learned reviews are completed for each FEL event and drive subsequent improvement initiatives.
- Support Backlog Management: Proactively supports backlog management.
- Maintain Resource Forecasting: Responsible for developing and improving maintenance resource forecasting for the development Asset's 5-year Work Plan and Budget.
- Participate in Hiring and Organizational Design: Participate in hiring and organizational design as required.
- Succession Planning Discussions: Support succession planning discussions with leadership teams for the ENGINE maintenance and turnaround organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Relevant Engineering or Maintenance Discipline: Degree in relevant engineering or maintenance discipline.
- Previous Oil and Gas Experience: Previous oil and gas experience in a maintenance planning leadership position.
- Strong Technical Background: Strong technical background in planning and scheduling tools – JDE, SAP, Prometheus, Primavera P6.
- Understanding of Planning Processes: Understanding of planning processes including constructability, advanced work packaging, work planning (schedule, resources, cost), project scoping, contract planning and management, progress measurement/controls, and materials management.
- Knowledge of Core Maintenance and Technical Project Planning: Knowledgeable in core maintenance and technical project planning and scheduling industry best practices. Experience with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation/controls, fabrication, inspection, and related disciplines while also having a good working knowledge of complex facility operations, preferably LNG facilities.
- Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills and experience in managing site staff.
- Supply Chain Logistics: Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain logistics to ensure all work can be completed in remote locations.
- Time Management: Demonstrated skills in time management to drive effective communications between staff and maintainable assets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ Years of Relevant Maintenance Planning Experience: 15+ years in relevant maintenance planning and execution experience providing technical and maintenance planning support to plant maintenance teams in a complex oil and gas operating environment, preferred.
- Familiarity with Supporting Operations: Familiarity in supporting operations within the refining or LNG industry is desirable.
- Leadership or Supervisory Experience: Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is highly regarded.
Work Hours: The standard work week will be Monday to Friday, aligned to support business requirements. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
