Job Description:

As a Senior Manager Software Engineering, you will oversee complex Mainframe and Distributed applications, leveraging your expertise in software engineering management, stakeholder management, product design, development, and maintenance. Your role will involve managing various disparate views of the system, designing and developing its framework, and explaining your choices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage complex Mainframe and Distributed applications
  2. Engineering management, Stakeholder management, Product design, development & maintenance
  3. Understand various disparate views of the system
  4. Design and develop the framework of the system and be able to explain choices made
  5. Create, understand and validate Design and estimated effort for given module/task, and be able to justify it
  6. Come up with architecture and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security, design
  7. Implement the defined SSMO delivery process/guidelines like Problem Management, Incident Management, Change Management, SLA Compliance, productivity and other application goals etc.
  8. Participation in Design reviews, Test Case reviews, and Production Support readiness reviews for new releases
  9. Drive stakeholder discussions (business customers, IT partners) along with Service Managers/Service Directors for understanding business needs
  10. Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
  11. Participate in meetings/walkthrough session/group meetings to understand business problem/objective of project
  12. Act as a gatekeeper for production and analyze each and every code and infrastructure changes going in to ensure the quality
  13. Work with business partners to ensure appropriate prioritization for scheduled maintenance, including coordination of priorities across applications when required
  14. Prepare and present weekly/monthly status reports and daily project level status reports to both the US and India team members
  15. Build project standards and processes and implement them across the teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  2. Overall, 15+ years experience in developing and maintaining Software & Products
  3. Hands on experience in developing mainframe (CICS, COBOL, DB2, JCL) and distributed applications (Java, Kafka, Elastic, AWS, Python)
  4. Knowledge of US Healthcare domain, in general and Provider domain, in particular is desirable
  5. Solid knowledge of Agile/Scrum Methodology
  6. Proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
