Visual Communication Designer

At Vihara Innovation Network, we're seeking a talented Visual Communication Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you'll play a crucial role in developing visual communication strategies that effectively convey complex ideas and drive impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of intervention strategies and visual aids for various programs.
  • Collaborate with senior designers to design and develop interventions, and visual aids, iteratively prototype and test them on the field, and adapt them to create the final suite of solutions for implementation.
  • Create project communication materials that clearly illustrate program narratives and strategies.
  • Assist in envisioning structures, templates, communication styles, and visual languages for project content.
  • Work closely with team members and designers to creatively package insights and field learnings into visually rich innovation narratives.
  • Document project processes and capture pivotal design decisions and turning points.
  • Manage the program's online presence, including its website, blog, and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate with the program team, design advisors, and external vendors to develop, edit, render, and oversee production of communication materials.
  • Maintain a robust archive of all project communication materials.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge in Visual Semantics and Visual Design, with an emphasis on information design, editorial design, and typography.
  • Experience and work in information, communication, and social design.
  • Creative and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information, draw connections, and present complex ideas in an engaging and accessible manner.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, and collaborative platforms like Figma, Canva, and Google Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying ideas accurately and creatively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
