API Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled API Test Automation Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for API testing using Python.
  • Set up and enhance automation frameworks such as PyTest and Robot Framework.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for validating API functionalities.

Testing Execution & Defect Management:

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on APIs.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with developers and other QA team members for issue resolution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand API requirements and expected behaviors.
  • Contribute to process improvements in QA methodologies for API automation.

Payments Domain Exposure:

  • Understand basics of payment gateway operations such as UPI Switch Transition, Biller Management System, Mandate Unification System, and Wallet Aggregation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in QA automation with Python focused on API testing.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks like PyTest or Robot Framework.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and defect lifecycle.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex functional requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to the payments domain including UPI, Biller systems, and wallets.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
