The role of ICU Registrar is a critical position requiring attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Assessments: Conduct thorough medical assessments of patients, including taking detailed histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Documentation: Document findings accurately in the medical record, using standardized forms for admission history and physical assessment.
  • Treatment Plans: Preset treatment plans and prescribe medication as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with consultants to develop and review daily discharge plans.
  • Progress Review: Review patient progress regularly, communicating with nursing staff and relatives as needed.
  • Documentation Completion: Complete variance notes, investigations charts, and other relevant documentation.
  • Liaison Services: Liaise with consultants, counseled patients and relatives, and complete consultation requests for other specialties.
Additional Requirements
  • Procedures: Carry out procedures within scope, such as CVC line insertion and endotracheal intubations.
  • Discharge Summaries: Prepare discharge summaries and transfer summaries.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in unit and hospital meetings, clinical reviews, and pathology/radiology meetings.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with training and mandatory programs (BLS, ACLS, ATLS).
