Job Title: Chemical Research Specialist

 

 

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Research Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for conducting literature searches and reviews, as well as executing synthesis and scale-up of small organic molecules/intermediates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature search and review, including basic software knowledge such as Sci-Finder and Chem-draw.
  • Execute synthesis and scale up of small organic molecules/intermediates, active ingredient/polymers/dispsersions to multi-kilogram quantities under supervision of department head.
  • Employ techniques such as column chromatography, recrystallization, and fractional distillation.
  • Basic knowledge to utilise HPLC, GC, TLC, NMR, IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy for compound analysis and interpretation of chemical structure.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and research publications.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, observation sheet, including reports, presentations, protocols and publications.
  • Develop detailed plans outlining the purpose, materials, methods, and acceptance criteria for tests and studies.
  • Establish protocols for proper sample collection, labelling, storage, and processing to prevent contamination or mix-ups.
  • Effectively convey complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely and engage in group meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.
  • Regular upkeep and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Provide comprehensive training to laboratory personnel to ensure competence and adherence to GLP requirements.
  • Maintain organized and clean laboratory environments with controlled conditions to minimize errors and ensure consistency.
  • Adhere & implement to safety protocols and ethical guidelines; ensure compliance and policies to prevent data tampering, including version control and secure storage of records.
