Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Matrix is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead our data engineering team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless data integration into our Actimize system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage database systems and technical business analysis projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, deliver solutions, and ensure they meet business objectives.
  • Analyze and document current business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize database performance and efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on expertise in ETL design, development, and error handling, with a deep understanding of Actimize SAM, AIS modules, and the Actimize Data Model.
  • Design, develop, and implement data solutions within financial institutions, specifically focusing on Actimize SAM, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Offer technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior analysts and team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and skills development.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across all database systems, maintaining compliance with industry standards.
  • Establish and implement best practices for database management, technical business analysis, and process improvements.
  • Effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with business objectives.
  • Track and report on project progress, ensuring timely delivery of objectives and successful completion of initiatives.
  • Perform gap analysis on new Actimize software versions and features, evaluating the impact on current functionality and proposing necessary adjustments.
  • Document all business and data analysis findings, including recommendations for future improvements.
  • Prepare and execute test cases, assist during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and work with business users to review and validate UAT outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cloud technologies, preferably on GCP.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS SQL (with strong query performance tuning skills), SAS, SQL, Python, PySpark, or Scala (SAS experience preferred but not required).
  • Extensive knowledge of AML Transaction Monitoring standards and best practices within large, global financial institutions.

Requirements:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Data Management, Statistics or related fields.
  • Proven experience of 5-10 years.
