About the Role:

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a talented Software Engineering Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving the development of innovative software solutions that improve health outcomes for millions of people worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and deployment of complex software systems.
  • Mentor and guide team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop software solutions that meet those needs.
  • Implement and enforce software development best practices, such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience working with distributed systems and/or complex architectures.
  • Experience with Java, Python, Azure/AWS, Spring boot, microservices, Elastic Search, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (terraform, Azure Blob, Azure functions, AKS) and scalable architecture.
  • Experience managing teams of software engineers, ideally in a fast-paced or agile environment.
  • Solid knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
  • Proven solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and guide team members through complex challenges.
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
