Job Title: Application Security Expert

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Expert to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of software development.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support vulnerability assessments using various tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and other teams to ensure that security is integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage the vulnerability management lifecycle, including triage, tracking, and remediation.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to developers on vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain and evolve secure SDLC practices and documentation.
  • Deliver training sessions on security awareness and secure coding best practices.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, research, and innovate to improve overall AppSec posture.
  • Administer threat modeling activities.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Required Skills:
  • Experience with DAST, SAST, and SCA tools.
  • Knowledge of API security principles and tools.
  • Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25, and secure SDLC.
  • Understanding of vulnerability management lifecycle and remediation workflows.
  • Understanding of threat modeling concepts.
  • Familiarity with penetration testing tools.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
  • Exposure to cloud security is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Good to Have Skills:

  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with container security.
  • Certifications such as CEH or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with threat modeling tools.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
